Middle East spend more hours on FB during Ramadan

by

Facebook users in the Middle East are likely to spend 57.6 million hours online more than usual during the holy month of Ramadan, according to a research from the social media site.

Facebook usage is expected to increase by five percent this year as compared to 2016, as users in the region would take this time to search about consumer decisions influenced by the site.

The highest concentration of users would be at 3 am. A lot of users will also be online at night.

According to Arabian Business, this could include travel transactions and late night shopping and health advices. Users will also talk more about the challenges of fasting during Ramadan online.

Instagram, a social media site also owned by Facebook, is where photos of recipe ideas fit for the yearly practice would be concentrated.

Facebook revealed that users from the region have already began talking about Ramadan earlier this year.

UAE has around 8.4 million active Facebook users.
