Abu Dhabi Police busts car scam ring

The Abu Dhabi Police has busted a car scam syndicate with the arrest of the criminal gang’s 54 members, who allegedly defrauded investors of up to Dh1.3 billion.

Up to 5,000 low-earning people in the UAE will benefit from Easa Saleh Al Gurg Foundation’s project that seeks to feed poor and blue-collar workers in the UAE.

Dr Raja Easa Saleh Al Gurg, chairman of the foundation, said the group will distribute 100,000 Ramadan Meer before the beginning of the Muslims’ holy month.

The Foundation will hand 3,000 Iftar meals at several mosques in Dubai, including Easa Saleh Al Gurg in Al Karama, Fatima Abdullah Mohamed Rashid in Al Barsha, Al Khulafa Al Rashideen mosque in Al Warqa, Abu Obaida bin Al Jarrah mosque in Al Jaflia and Omar bin Abdulaziz mosque in Al Muhaisana.

Aside from basic food packages that include rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil, and dates, the Foundation also plans to distribute Eid clothes for the children of indigent families.

Al Gurg’s group also plans to partner with the Tarahom charity society to send 2,500 boxes of foodstuff in remote areas.
The Dubai-based foundation is also collaborating with the Dubai Police to encourage prisoners to memorize Quran.
Aside from Ease Saleh Al Gurg Foundation, humanitarian group Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation will also distribute free Iftar meals.
